NABH accreditation looks at how consistently a hospital follows safe, documented processes. Software does not grant accreditation, but good records make the evidence easier to produce.
Where software helps
| Area | Records the software can provide |
|---|---|
| Patient identification | Unique ID, registration details |
| Consent and clinical records | Structured notes and orders, with dates and users |
| Medication management | Prescriptions, issue records, batch and expiry |
| Laboratory quality | Sample tracking, QC registers, turnaround |
| Infection control and OT | OT and CSSD hygiene logs, day care registers |
| Audit trail | Who did what and when |
| Quality indicators | Reports on waiting time, length of stay, readmissions |
What software cannot do
- Replace policies, training and committees.
- Fix processes nobody follows.
- Guarantee accreditation.
Preparation tips
- Map each standard to a process and its record.
- Run internal audits and fix gaps.
- Use reports as evidence and trend them over time.
Using reports as evidence
Assessors look for consistent practice over time. Reports from a system, such as medication records, lab QC logs, OT hygiene logs and quality indicators, show that a process runs every day rather than only before the assessment. Keep reports dated and stored, and assign an owner to each indicator.
